Creature Creation Guide for TTRPG Campaigns
Begin the process of generating creatures for your campaign here: https://tavernofazoth.com/creature
Explanation of each option:
- Art Style - The art style helps maintain a consistent theme for your campaign.
- Edition - This is the TTRPG framework you would like to use. The versions supported today are Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, 4th edition, 2nd edition, and Pathfinder 1st Edition and 2nd Edition.
- Language - Still early in development, creatures have the ability to be generated in various languages.
- Challenge Rating - This field allows you to determine how strong the creatures should be. Generally, you might choose something like "1/4" for a very weak creature or go as high as 20 for an incredibly powerful foe.
- Description - This field allows you to describe the creature you would like to create. It is freeform, and your imagination is the limit. You can describe the creature generically, such as "Forest Goblin," or you can delve into specific details, suggesting attacks, weaknesses, or visual appearance.
If you need inspiration for creatures, you can check out the thousands of creatures freely available through the Compendium search at https://tavernofazoth.com/compendium, or use the blue d20 icon to randomize the inputs.
Once you've generated a creature, you can modify the illustration by clicking the creature's image and choosing "Regenerate Image," then describing the changes you would like to suggest.
Likewise, if you would like to make changes to the creature, you can choose "Modify Content" from the "Scroll" menu and describe the changes you would like to suggest. The modify content feature uses AI to change the content throughout the creature sheet, making it easy to increase the difficulty, change the name everywhere it appears, or whatever else you might suggest.
If you prefer to edit individual fields manually, simply select the Pencil icon to begin editing. Once you are finished and happy with the creature you've created, you can download a PDF and print the creature for your tabletop campaign by selecting the "PDF" option in the "Scroll Menu".
